Clear Comfort CCW100 AOP Pool Sanitation System

The Clear Comfort CCW100 is a hydroxyl-based Advanced Oxidation Process sanitation system designed for medium-to-large residential pools.

Using Clear Comfort’s patented AOP technology, the CCW100 helps reduce reliance on traditional chlorine while maintaining clean, fresh-feeling pool water. The system installs into the pool’s return plumbing through an included preassembled manifold and requires only a simple annual cartridge exchange for routine system maintenance.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Designed for medium-to-large residential pools
  • Hydroxyl-based Advanced Oxidation Process technology
  • Helps reduce traditional chlorine demand
  • Supports low-chlorine pool operation
  • Maximum pool-water flow rate of 90 GPM
  • Preassembled manifold installation kit
  • Fits into approximately 11 inches of return plumbing in most installations
  • Operates on 120V or 230V power
  • Low electrical consumption
  • Annual five-minute cartridge exchange
  • Color-coded system-status lights
  • NSF/ANSI 50 certified
  • UL certified
  • Made in the USA
  • Five-year limited system warranty

Hydroxyl-Based Advanced Oxidation

The CCW100 generates hydroxyl radicals that oxidize contaminants in the pool water.

Unlike systems that rely only on a residual chemical sanitizer, Clear Comfort introduces treated air into the circulation system through a Venturi manifold. The resulting oxidation process works throughout the pool-water system while allowing a lower traditional sanitizer residual to be maintained.

The pool must still be properly filtered, circulated, tested, balanced, and maintained according to Clear Comfort’s instructions and applicable health requirements.

Low-Chlorine Pool Operation

Clear Comfort positions the CCW100 as an alternative to heavy reliance on traditional chlorine sanitation.

The system can help reduce:

  • Chlorine demand
  • Chemical handling
  • Chlorine odor
  • Harsh-feeling pool water
  • Disinfection by-products associated with chlorine sanitation

Clear Comfort does not eliminate the need for regular water testing, filtration, circulation, or proper water balance. Required sanitizer residuals should follow the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable local requirements.

Application and Specifications

  • Model: CCW100
  • Application: Medium-to-large residential pools
  • Technology: Hydroxyl-based Advanced Oxidation Process
  • Maximum pool-water flow rate: 90 GPM
  • Recommended air-flow rate: 5–7 LPM
  • Electrical supply: 120V or 230V, 60 Hz
  • Electrical rating at 120V: 1.0A
  • Electrical rating at 230V: 0.5A
  • Approximate power consumption: 10 watts
  • System dimensions: 12 inches high × 8 inches wide × 3 inches deep
  • Installation location: Indoor or outdoor equipment area
  • Cartridge life expectancy: Approximately 8,000 operating hours
  • Typical cartridge service interval: Annually
  • Country of manufacture: USA

The CCW100 should operate only while the pool circulation pump is running.

Preassembled Manifold Installation

The CCW100 bundle includes a preassembled manifold that installs in the pool’s main return line after the circulation pump, filter, heater, and other primary pool equipment.

The manifold uses a Venturi to draw treated air from the CCW100 into the return water.

In many plumbing configurations, the manifold fits into a single section of approximately 11 inches of pipe.

The standard equipment sequence is:

Pool → Pump → Filter → Heater → Clear Comfort Manifold → Chlorine Injection → Pool

Installation conditions vary. Existing plumbing, available straight-pipe length, equipment layout, and chemical-feeding equipment should be reviewed before ordering.

Included System Components

The CCW100 system and manifold bundle includes the primary components required for standard installation, including:

  • CCW100 control unit
  • CCW100 cartridge unit
  • Preassembled Venturi manifold
  • Air check valve
  • Air tubing
  • Valved air-flow meter
  • Electrical connection components

Standard plumbing supplies, mounting hardware, electrical materials, and installation labor may still be required.

Confirm the current package contents before installation.

System Status Lights

The front of the CCW100 provides simple visual system monitoring.

  • Green light: The system is powered and operating properly
  • Yellow light: The cartridge has reached approximately 80% of its expected life and a replacement should be ordered
  • Red light: The cartridge has reached the end of its expected service life and should be replaced
  • Blue light: Indicates cartridge operation and should remain illuminated during normal use

A flashing red light may indicate a condition that requires manufacturer support.

Annual Cartridge Exchange

Routine system maintenance consists primarily of exchanging the CCW100 cartridge approximately once each year.

The process typically takes about five minutes:

  1. Turn off the CCW100
  2. Disconnect the cartridge cable
  3. Remove the air tubing
  4. Remove the existing cartridge unit
  5. Transfer the flowmeter when required
  6. Install the replacement cartridge
  7. Replace the air check valve when instructed
  8. Return the old cartridge using the provided return process

Actual cartridge life depends on operating hours. The system-status lights indicate when replacement is approaching or required.

Pool-Care Requirements

Clear Comfort recommends ongoing water testing and maintenance.

Published residential pool guidelines include:

  • pH: 7.2–7.6
  • Total alkalinity: 60–120 ppm
  • Cyanuric acid: 20–40 ppm
  • Calcium hardness: 200–800 ppm
  • Total dissolved solids: Less than 1,500 ppm
  • Phosphates: Less than 200 ppb

The manufacturer also recommends:

  • Continuous or near-continuous circulation
  • Regular filter maintenance
  • Monthly verification of air flow
  • Proactive, non-foaming algae prevention
  • Brushing, shocking, and filter cleaning when algae first appears

Required chemistry levels may vary based on pool construction, local climate, bather load, sanitation method, and applicable regulations.

Electrical Requirements

The CCW100 can operate from either 120V or 230V, 60 Hz power.

The system should be:

  • Properly grounded
  • Connected through GFCI protection where required
  • Wired to run only when the circulation pump is operating
  • Installed according to local and national electrical codes
  • Connected by a qualified professional

When connected to standalone power rather than the pool-pump circuit, a compatible timer or control arrangement is required so the CCW100 runs with the circulation system.

Installation Considerations

Before installation, confirm:

  • Pool application is appropriate for the CCW100
  • Main return flow does not exceed 90 GPM
  • Adequate straight-pipe space is available
  • The system can be mounted near the injection point
  • Air tubing can be kept short and properly routed
  • The manifold is installed after the heater and before chemical injection
  • The unit is protected from direct sprinkler spray
  • The pool water is balanced before startup
  • The circulation schedule supports proper system operation
  • Electrical supply and GFCI protection are available

Professional installation is recommended.

Certifications

The CCW100 carries current manufacturer-listed certifications and registrations including:

  • NSF/ANSI 50 certification for swimming-pool and spa equipment
  • UL certification for water-treatment equipment
  • Canadian water-treatment equipment certification
  • EPA establishment registration

Certification scope and installation requirements should be reviewed when the system is used in regulated applications.

Warranty

The current Clear Comfort residential manual provides:

  • Five-year limited warranty on the CCW100 system
  • One-year limited warranty on replacement cartridges and cylinders

The warranty applies to the original purchaser and is subject to proper installation, operation, maintenance, electrical supply, and registration requirements.

The warranty must be activated within one year of the Clear Comfort ship date.

Freight, cartridge exchange, removal, reinstallation, and labor costs may not be covered.
