BWT Aquabot Nova Commercial Robotic Pool Cleaner
The BWT Aquabot Nova is a next-generation commercial robotic pool cleaner designed for medium-to-large pools up to 50 feet long or approximately 1,185 square feet.
Its dual-drive, bidirectional cleaning system maintains suction while moving forward or backward, helping eliminate wasted turns and interruptions. AquaSmart Touch navigation, gyroscope-based orientation, 5,000 GPH vortex suction, and dual 4D Hyperfine filters provide efficient floor, wall, and waterline cleaning—even in pools with slopes or beach-entry designs.
Bluetooth app control, scheduled cleaning intervals, adjustable suction inlets, top-access filtration, and an included commercial caddy make the Nova a capable, low-maintenance option for demanding pool environments.

Built for Commercial Pool Cleaning
The Aquabot Nova is designed for commercial facilities that need dependable automatic cleaning without connecting a vacuum hose to the pool’s circulation system.
Suitable applications include:
- Hotels and resorts
- Apartment and HOA pools
- Schools and universities
- Fitness and health clubs
- Therapy and rehabilitation pools
- Recreation facilities
- Medium-size public pools
- Other compatible commercial pools up to 50 feet long
The self-contained cleaner uses its own suction pump and filtration system, keeping collected debris out of the facility’s primary pool filter.
Floor, Wall and Waterline Cleaning
The Nova provides automatic cleaning across:
- Pool floors
- Compatible walls
- The waterline
Four PVC brushes loosen accumulated dirt while the onboard suction system captures debris within the dual filter cassettes.
Wall and step-climbing performance depends on surface material, geometry, water chemistry, filter condition, and the transition between the floor and wall.
BWT does not recommend this model for tiled pools.
Dual-Drive Bidirectional Cleaning
The Nova uses a symmetrical dual-drive platform that cleans while traveling forward or backward.
Because the suction system remains active in both directions, the cleaner does not need to stop collecting debris while repositioning. This supports continuous cleaning performance and reduces unnecessary movement.
The drive system includes:
- Two independent drive motors
- One dedicated suction pump
- Belt-free cogwheel transmission
- Sealed Breezer motor block
- Torque-resistant operation on slopes
The complete drive and pump block can be serviced as a single assembly for simplified diagnosis and repair.
AquaSmart Touch Navigation
AquaSmart Touch combines pool-scanning software with gyroscope, accelerometer, and onboard sensor data.
The navigation system is designed to:
- Learn the pool’s geometry
- Optimize cleaning routes
- Correct direction in real time
- Reduce unnecessary overlap
- Prevent cable tangling through adaptive turns
- Adjust movement on slopes
- Recover from challenging situations
- Improve coverage across irregular pool shapes
The adjustable handle works with the navigation system to help vary the cleaner’s path and extend coverage.
Beach-Entry and Zero-Entry Compatibility
An embedded sensing algorithm helps prevent the Nova from driving out of the water on gradual slopes, beach entries, and zero-entry pool designs.
The cleaner adjusts its movement when it detects shallow transitions.
Performance can still vary with extremely shallow water, unusual surfaces, abrupt elevation changes, or complex pool geometry.
5,000 GPH Vortex Suction
The Nova processes approximately 5,000 gallons of pool water per hour.
During a three-hour cleaning program, more than 15,000 gallons can pass through the filtration system.
Its Vortex Power suction system is designed to capture:
- Leaves
- Sand
- Silt
- Hair
- Pollen
- Fine suspended particles
- Lightweight debris
- Other common commercial-pool contaminants
Adjustable intake nozzles allow the opening height to be fine-tuned for the pool surface and debris conditions.
4D Hyperfine Filtration
The Nova uses two independent 4D Hyperfine filter cassettes.
Each filter provides approximately 430 square centimeters of filtration area. Ultra-fine microfiber loops are designed to retain small particles while the dual-filter configuration supports high-capacity debris collection.
Additional filter features include:
- ClearView transparent inspection panel
- 180-degree top-access opening
- Secure filter-seal system
- Full-filter indicator on the control box
- Removable cassettes for convenient rinsing
The filters should be cleaned after each use and whenever the full-filter indicator illuminates.
Do not allow dirt to dry inside the filters.
Three Cleaning Programs
The Nova provides three selectable three-hour cleaning programs.
Floor
Cleans the pool floor for the full three-hour cycle.
Full Clean
Cleans the floor, walls, and waterline for three hours.
Floor Plus
Performs one hour of full floor, wall, and waterline cleaning followed by two hours of floor-only cleaning.
The cleaner automatically shuts off and enters standby mode when the selected program is complete.
Delayed Start and Repeat Scheduling
The Nova allows the cleaning cycle to begin after a delay of one to nine hours.
Through the NOVA RC app, the operator can also schedule repeat cleaning intervals of:
- 48 hours
- 72 hours
- 96 hours
The robot must remain properly positioned, connected, and maintained for scheduled operation.
Do not leave the cleaner in the pool when it is not being used unless operation is being managed according to BWT’s scheduling instructions.
NOVA RC Bluetooth App
The NOVA RC smartphone app connects to the cleaner’s control box through Bluetooth.
Compatible app functions include:
- Start and stop control
- Cleaning-program selection
- One-to-nine-hour delayed start
- Repeat interval scheduling
- Manual left and right steering
- Pool shape and surface settings
- Operating-status monitoring
- Alerts and system messages
- LED brightness adjustment
- Software and model information
The app can also provide manual directional control while the cleaner is underwater, provided the mobile device remains within Bluetooth range of the control box.
Underwater LED Lighting
Two underwater LED strips provide decorative and functional illumination while the Nova operates.
Each strip contains 48 high-lumen LEDs. The lights respond to suction activity and can be adjusted through three brightness levels in the NOVA RC app.
75-Foot Floating Cable
The Nova includes a 75-foot, four-wire floating cable.
Before operation:
- Place the control box at least 11.8 feet from the pool
- Keep the control box at least 4.8 inches above the ground
- Protect the control box from water and direct sunlight
- Uncoil only the cable length needed to reach the farthest point
- Leave remaining cable coiled outside the pool
- Remove twists and tangles before starting
The control box is rated IP54 but is not waterproof.
